Tourism Committee Launches Winter in Armenia Campaign

The Tourism Committee has launched the Winter in Armenia campaign to help holidaymakers choose their ideal destination. Four new and exciting winter tourism destinations have been included on the platform, which brings together all tourism products.
Lusine Gevorgyan, President of the Tourism Committee, told Armenpress that the platform is a very good opportunity for businesses, guesthouses, and hotels to promote themselves and guide tourists on where they can go in Armenia during the winter.
“The Winter in Armenia campaign promises active and diverse tourism experiences, offering something for everyone to match their preferences. One of these is the already traditional Minus 46 festival, which is held in February in Shirak, Armenia’s coldest region.”

Furthermore, the Yukigassen Champions League 2026 will take place in Armenia in February, according to the national federation of the sport.
“We promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage active participation in winter sports during the winter months. Just as we encourage water sports at Lake Sevan in the summer—such as yachting, stand-up paddleboarding, and others—we also promote skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports in the winter, including snowball games,” Lusine Gevorgyan said.
The head of the Tourism Committee added that significant promotional efforts are being made, particularly toward the Gulf countries, where it is almost always hot and people are looking for destinations that offer snow and exciting winter experiences. Gevorgyan emphasized that in this respect Armenia is in an advantageous position and that its winter resorts need to be promoted more actively. According to her, tourists should come and visit Jermuk, Tsaghkadzor, Aparan, as well as other towns in Shirak Province, where there is abundant snowfall in winter.
