The Armenia-US partnership is growing stronger every day - Samantha Power
Tuesday, July 23, 2024The head of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Samantha Power shared a video summarizing the results of her two-day visit to Armenia, where she indicated the directions in which Armenian-American relations are developing day by day.
Samantha Power mentioned in a video entitled "Why I was in Armenia" in which, summarizing her recent trip to Armenia. She emphasized that during this time she met with representatives of various fields: business leaders, young people, journalists, and government officials, including Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. “In talking to Armenians, it is very clear that the focus right now is on building resilience – building resilience in the food security domain, building resilience when it comes to extreme weather events and climate shocks, and, of course, building energy resilience so they are getting their energy from more diversified pool of suppliers.
USAID is really privileged to support efforts in each of these domains and more. But we also recognize that we want to move this relationship from aid to trade. And that is why we’ve made a series of new announcements, including a new public-private partnership that is an example of a modern partnership, and the strong partnership that is getting ever stronger every day between the US and Armenia,” said Samantha Power in a video message.
