Pashinyan, Diaspora Business Leaders Discuss Energy-Sector Investment
Wednesday, April 10, 2019Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan welcomed a group of Diaspora business leaders suggesting that they target their potential investments in Armenia’s energy sector by taking part in government-initiated tenders. Among those who attended the meeting was Los Angeles-based businessman and philanthropist Harry Nadjarian.
Pashinyan, who met with the delegation on April 2, highlighted that meetings held with investors allow the government to discuss ways of improving the business climate in Armenia and implement investment projects. He said such meetings also enable to the government to learn about expectations of outside investors.
The Diaspora business leaders welcomed the steps taken by the government aimed at improving the business environment and expressed confidence those policies will help attract foreign investors and mobilize the potential of Diaspora-based Armenian businessmen.
The delegation was headed Gagik Makaryan, who is the chairman of the employers union of Armenia. He expressed enthusiasm about the changes taking place in Armenia, saying they will prompt new groups of investors to come to Armenia.
Speaking on behalf of the meeting participants, Makaryan said that they are all eager to implement investment projects in our country, which is consistently improving its business environment.
During the meeting, the Diaspora investors made presentation about a number of investment projects in the fields of energy, construction and new technologies.
