Opera singer Anna Nshanyan passes away in the United States
Wednesday, July 24, 2024Opera singer and soloist Anna Nshanyan, who made significant contributions to the Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, has passed away in the United States, according to a statement from the Armenian Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Anna Nshanyan began working in the theatre since 1959, performing numerous opera roles: "Sayat Nova" (Princess Anna) by Harutyunyan, "David Bek" (Shushan) and "Anoush" (Anoush) by Tigranyan, by Chukhachyan "Arshak II " (Olympia), "La Traviata" by Verdi (Violetta), "Othello" by Verdi (Desdemona) and among others.
The singer received the title of Honored Artist of Armenia, as well as the certificate of recognition of the USSR and the gold medal of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.
In 1980 she settled in the United States, where she continued her concerts and received several American awards, such as Famous Opera Singer.
