Monday, June 15, 2020Here are the current numbers of novel coronavirus cases in Los Angeles County and across Southern California:
- Los Angeles County: 73,791 confirmed cases, 2,926 deaths
- Orange County: 8,573 cases, 221 deaths
- Riverside County: 10,490 confirmed cases, 383 deaths
- San Bernardino County: 7,161 cases, 229 deaths
- Ventura County: 1,518 cases, 40 deaths
- San Diego County: 9,314 cases, 319 deaths
Health officials in Los Angeles County on Monday confirmed an additional 19 deaths and 1,071 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the region's totals to 2,926 deaths and 73,791 confirmed cases.
Those numbers are being closely monitored by officials as more and more restrictions are loosened across the region. Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer said that county officials visited 2,000 restaurants over the weekend and found that 50 percent of them were not in compliance with county requirements.
"There should be no places where tables are right next to each other. They either need a six-foot barrier or a physical barrier," Ferrer said in response to a reporter's question about instances where tables were too close together at some restaurants.
However, Ferrer noted that the other half of restaurants were in compliance, which is a good sign.
