LAPD Headquarters Evacuated after Suspicious Powder Found in Mail Room
Friday, January 11, 2019LOS ANGELES (KABC) --The Los Angeles Police Department evacuated its downtown headquarters for almost three hours Thursday night after a suspicious envelope was found in the mail room.
The building is at 100 W. First St. The evacuation began just after 7 p.m. The scene was given an all-clear around 9:40 p.m.Officials say the suspicious item was an envelope containing a powdery substance. It was investigated and cleared by the HazMat unit.
