Glendale announced the closures of public facilities and service modifications Wednesday in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

— All service counters inside City Hall and the Municipal Services and Perkins buildings, as well as other off-site facilities, are closed to the public. Service counters are no longer accepting appointments for service. All city departments can be reached by phone and all online resources are available.

— All late fees for city-provided services accrued as of the emergency proclamation declared on Monday will be waived at least through March 31.

Two new public orders were issued Wednesday following the Glendale City Council’s declaration of a local emergency on Monday. Those orders include:

— Landlords may not evict tenants during the local emergency period if the tenant is able to show an inability to pay rent due to the circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

— All adult day care facilities in Glendale shall be closed in order to prevent the congregation of large groups of adults, particularly seniors, in one location in an effort to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.

These changes are effective through March 31 unless extended or modified by further executive order or action of the City Council.
