UTSA senior defensive end Marcus Davenport was named to the All-Conference USA first team, the league's office announced Tuesday.

Davenport, a former Stevens High School standout, was the only Roadrunner selected to the first team in a vote by the conference's 14 head coaches.

Two Roadrunners were named to the second team: junior defensive tackle Kevin Strong Jr. and senior long snapper Matt Bayliss.

Three others received honorable mention honors: senior linebacker La'Kl Bass, senior safety Nate Gaines and freshman kicker Jared Sackett.

In addition, Sackett and defensive tackle Jaylon Haynes were named to the C-USA All-Freshman team.

It was Davenport's third career all-conference award. A second-team selection a year ago and honorable mention pick in 2015, Davenport became the third roadrunner to earn first-team all-league honors, joining Josiah Tauaefa (2016 C-USA) and Triston Wade (2012 WAC).

Davenport posted 55 tackles this season and set school records with 17.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks and eight quarterback hurries.

A member of the Church Bednarik Award and Wuerffel Trophy watch lists, Davenport added four pass breakups, three forced fumbles and a fumble return for a touchdown for UTSA, which went 6-5 under second-year coach Frank Wilson.
