Cabinet approves 2025 relief program for Nagorno-Karabakh displaced persons
Thursday, November 21, 2024The Cabinet on Thursday approved the 2025 social support program for the displaced persons of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The government has been paying monthly support of 50,000 AMD to every displaced person of Nagorno-Karabakh since October 2023.
The updated relief program for 2025 will address individual target groups in particular.
According to the new program, the support during January-March 2025 will amount to 50,000 a month, maintaining the same circle of beneficiaries. In April-June, the support will be cut to 40,000 and directed to most vulnerable groups, including children below 18, students, seniors above the age of 63, persons with disabilities and survivor’s pension recipients. The program will continue in July-December for the same groups of persons, but with 30,000 AMD monthly support payments.
The government will spend nearly 30,5 billion for the total program in 2025. The decision will take effect January 1, 2025.
The decision to update the program was made “given the financial trends of economic integration of the displaced persons since the forced displacement from Nagorno-Karabakh and the launch of the state housing support program”, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan said at the Cabinet meeting.
