Armenians started to immigrate to the United States of America long time ago. In the 70s  and 80s they started building up Little Armenia in East Hollywood, after that they started moving to Glendale, Burbank and other cities in California.

Among the Armenians who live in the USA there are both the ones whose parents and grandparents immigrates here and they were born here, as well as the ones who immigrated to the United States recently.

One of the main things that unite Armenians in the United States is the culture. And music is the best representation of any culture.

Armenian music has a long history.  Even though life changes very fast, and living in the US makes us adjust to this culture  we still need to preserve our music.

It is very nice to know that a lot of Armenian concerts are being held in the United States. Both contemporary and folklore singers are coming to the United States to specially perform for the Armenian community in the US, and the tickets are always sold in no time. Armenian music still lives  within us and hopefully it will continue to live within us no matter how far we are from our homeland.
