According to the 2000 U.S. Census, Los Angeles is home to the largest Armenian population in all of America. The reasons that made Armenians move to the United States, and specifically Los Angeles, are various. But the fact is that America has one of the biggest Armenian Diasporas in the world.  The immigration started during the Soviet years and continues till these days.

The reasons for the immigration may be different, but one thing is for sure - it is not because Armenians do not love their country. A lot of people did not have another choice as to immigrate.

The Armenian nation is one of the strongest ones, and no matter how long they live far from their country and traditions, they are still able to preserve them and keep them protected. 

It is yet true that older generations have a different kind of affection towards Armenia than young people who were born and raised in the United States. This is though not a reason for them to care for Armenia less. It is very popular among American Armenians to go on tours to Armenia, visit the ancient historical places, go sightseeing and visit the most famous Armenian sites.  It is good to know that Armenians do not forget about their roots, and parents raise their children as true Armenians with love towards their country.

Lately, Armenia and Yerevan, in particular, has become a very active tourist spot for Armenians all over the world. One knows that if you have not visited Armenia for a few years, you might probably not recognize it the next time you see it, as it changes really fast to the better.

The other great side of visiting Armenia is knowing you are somehow being economically useful to your own country by visiting it, going to places, taking photos and posting them, buying souvenirs, food, renting an apartment, etc.

The numbers of American Armenia tourists in Armenia grow every year and hopefully, the number of people with Armenian decent visiting Armenia will increase year by year. This is a fact that will never change- Armenia is the home for all Armenians.
