Saturday, August 24, 2019YEREVAN. – The WCIT 2019 have been negotiating with the office of Barack Obama for four months, president of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) Alexander Yesayan confirmed.
“I do confirm that we have been negotiating with the office of Barack Obama for four months, but I can’t say anything at this stage,” Yesayan noted when commenting on rumors about Obama's possible participation at Yerevan-hosted WCIT 2019.
Yesayan did not announce the name of the person who will open the forum, hinting that this is a famous figure.
Speaking about the organization of the forum, Yesayan added that during the WCIT 2019 there will be an Armenian booth which will present innovative achievements of Armenian IT specialists.
According to him, it will be difficult to surprise IT Giants with a number of companies and employees, so the focus will be on quality.
“We will present Armenian companies that, despite the small staff and modest resources, managed to achieve significant results,” Yesayan noted, adding that Armenian specialists have achieved great results in the field of Artificial Intelligence, one of the main IT directions today.
As for the budget for the event, the chairman of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) said the forum has sponsors.
“The government also helps. A working group gathers under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan. We have the amount approved by the budget, however, I am happy to say that we are trying not to use these funds, but to use the help of sponsors,” Yesayan said.
