Monday, May 18, 2020Naz Edwards (born Nazig Dombalagian on February 2, 1952) is an American voice actress, singer, and Broadway star who is most remembered as the voice of antagonist Queen Beryl in the DiC English version of Sailor Moon. She is of Armenian descent.
In 1994, she starred in the TV movie And Then There Was One.
In 2012 and 2014, Edwards was a regional judge for the Songbook Academy, a summer intensive for high school students operated by the Great American Songbook Foundation and founded by Michael Feinstein.
Naz Edwards has been called "The Inside Out Teacher".
Working from the core of a performer, she peels away the blocks that prevent him or her from truly feeling and being in the moment. Then, a "layering" process begins, in which Naz guides performers to help get in touch with their true self through vocal expression, emotions, lyric interpretation and, most importantly, storytelling. And what better story to tell than the Great American Songbook.
Combining her unique teaching style with this beautiful classic, Naz helps every performer she works with reach his or her full potential.
