We are seeking a Structural Steel Detailer with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for translating structural engineering drawings into high-precision shop drawings and 3D models. You’ll be the bridge between design and reality, ensuring every beam, column, and bolt is accounted for and ready for fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

Modeling & Detailing: Create complex 3D models of structural and miscellaneous steel using industry-standard software (Tekla Structures, SDS2, or Advance Steel).
Shop Drawings: Generate comprehensive shop drawings, erection plans, and assembly details that comply with AISC/CISC standards.
BIM Coordination: Participate in BIM coordination meetings to resolve clashes and spatial conflicts before steel hits the shop floor.
Material Management: Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), bolt lists, and CNC data files for fabrication.
RFI Management: Proactively identify discrepancies in contract documents and draft clear, concise Requests for Information (RFIs).
Quality Control: Peer-review the work of junior detailers to ensure accuracy, constructability, and adherence to company standards.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 4+ years of dedicated experience in structural steel detailing.
Tech Stack: Expert-level proficiency in Tekla Structures (preferred), SDS2, or AutoCAD/Advance Steel.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of the AISC Steel Construction Manual and standard fabrication practices.
Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural blueprints with a high degree of spatial reasoning.
Precision: A "measure twice, cut once" mindset with extreme attention to detail.

Preferred Skills (The "Nice-to-Haves")

Experience with miscellaneous steel (stairs, railings, ladders).
Knowledge of connection design calculations.
Previous experience working directly within a fabrication shop environment.
