Staff Accountant Needed for Growing Accounting Department - This is Not an Entry Level Position - Los Angeles, CA

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our very small finance department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP.

Duties
• Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Review, verify, and reconcile invoices against purchase orders and receipts.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions in the general ledger.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close processes.
• Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies or issues related to payments.
• Assist in payroll management tasks as needed, including data entry related to payroll processing.
• Support the finance team with analysis skills to identify trends or discrepancies in financial reports.

Job Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role..
• Proficiency in Quickbooks Online and Excel
• Experience with corporate accounting functions including accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and bookkeeping.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for account reconciliation tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.
• Strong technical skills in using spreadsheets and 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
