POWER PLANT MAINTENANCE TRAINEE - Burbank, CA

Employment Standards: Ability to learn the maintenance of the Power Plant equipment; willingly work in the Power Plant environment; complete the Burbank Power Plant Maintenance Training Program; establish and maintain effective working relationship with supervisors, fellow employees, and the public.

Special Conditions & Requirements: Positions allocated to this classification are in a trainingcapacity for Power Plant Utility Worker. Maximum time for completion of the training program is 24months. Trainees may be terminated from employment at any time during the training period forfailure to maintain satisfactory progress. An extension of the 24-month training period may beconsidered when all Power Plant Utility Worker positions are filled. Successful completion of thetraining program will qualify an individual to take the examination for Power Plant Utility Worker.Continued employment is not guaranteed if there are no vacant positions after an extension of the24-month training period.

Employees in this classification, who are required by applicable laws and regulations to haverespiratory protection, shall comply with the American National Standards Institute’s requirements onPractices for Respiratory Protection.

Education/Training:  Graduation from high school or equivalent at time of appointment.

A valid California Class "C" driver's license or equivalent may be required at time of appointment.
