Job Description:

Los Angeles Pain Institute is a leading Interventional Pain Management center dedicated to providing comprehensive and cutting-edge solutions for pain relief. We offer a broad array of services designed to address both common and complex pain conditions, utilizing the latest and most innovative approaches in the field.

We are looking for a Medical Assistant with administrative skills in pain management. The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedics and phlebotomy who can assist the Dr with in-office procedures such as blood draws, patient exams and intakes, and the cleaning of instruments. Front office and back office clinical work will also be required, you must have experience using a Windows PC as well as an EMR system. Must be detail oriented, dependable and able to work independently and as a team. This is for our Glendale location.

You should have a pleasant empathic personality, as this is also a customer service role. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. Your Medical Assistant roles will require basic clinicals inclusive of assisting the doctor with intake of patients and hands on during procedures.

Bilingual in English and Armenian is required.
Background in pain management is required.
Minimum 2 years experience.

Job Requirements:

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients as soon as they arrive at the office.
Direct visitors to the appropriate doctor or exam room.
Get vitals of all patients once in exam room.
Handle patients intake and registration.
Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls.
Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures).
Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
Update calendars and schedule meetings.
Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing.

Skills

Comfortable in Drawing blood and has a valid phlebotomy certificate. Minimum 2 years experience required.
Assist the Dr with procedures such as epidural Injections, PRPs and joint and muscle injections
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Hands-on experience with office & medical equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers), blood pressure cuff, etc.
Professional attitude and appearance
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Excellent organizational skills
Customer service attitude
High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus
Understand instruction given by clinician and if unclear to ask for clarification
