Has one of the following qualifications:

· Has two years of experience in a social, recreational or educational program within the last five years, one year of which was full-time employment in a patient activities program in a health care setting, mental health setting or setting for the care of the handicapped.

· Is an occupational therapist, art therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, recreation therapist, occupational therapy assistant or a qualified Social Worker

· (Not necessary upon hire) Complete at least 36 hours of training in a course designed specifically for this position and approved by the Department of Health Services and shall receive regular consultation from either an occupational therapist, occupational therapy assistant, recreation therapist, art therapist, music therapist or dance therapist, who has had one year experience in a health care setting.

The center Activity Coordinator will provide the center with a health examination, signed by a physician, and a TB clearance, which is not more than 12 months prior to employment or within 7 days of employment.

In addition, the activity coordinator must be:

· Bilingual in both English and Armenian and have proficient written and verbal communication in both languages.

· Proficient in Microsoft excel and Microsoft word

· Must be motivated, energetic, and organized

· Creative & Innovative with activities

· Team-Oriented

· Excellent Multitasker

· Resourceful with planning activities and games at the center

· Create a monthly activity program for day-to-day activities

Activity Coordinator Responsibilities:

The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for a combination of administrative, activity planning, and direct care tasks under the supervision of the Program Director and/or the multidisciplinary team (MDT). The primary duties include:

· Assist with group recreational and social activities, ensuring participants are engaged, safe, and comfortable.

· Under the supervision of the center RN, assist with the provision of personal care services for participants, as needed.

· Assist with coordinating appointments and ensure participants are safely escorted to and from transportation providers.

· Assist participants during meal times, helping as necessary to ensure comfort and safety.

· Provide support in daily operations of the center and assist with additional duties as required by the Program Director or Administrator.

· Attend and actively contribute to all MDT meetings to ensure participant needs are met holistically.

· Conduct initial assessments for each participant and follow-up assessments every six months to monitor progress.

· Develop and implement individual activity plans tailored to each participant’s interests, physical abilities, and cognitive level.

· Create and organize a variety of social, therapeutic, and purposeful activities (both individual and group) that promote self-care, engagement, and quality of life for participants.

· Plan and lead creative, energizing activities (e.g., art, music, dance, physical games) that encourage interaction and promote mental and physical stimulation.

· Foster a dynamic, positive environment where participants feel motivated to engage in daily activities, build social connections, and pursue their personal interests.

· Participate in regular training and receive consultation from qualified therapists (e.g., occupational therapists, music therapists) to enhance skills and ensure the best practices in participant care and activity programming.

Additional Skills & Attributes:

· Have musical, artistic, and/or theatrical talents

Working Conditions:

The role requires working directly with elderly or disabled adults, providing both support and therapeutic activities. Some physical exertion is required, including standing, walking, and assisting participants with mobility. Must be flexible in response to the changing needs of participants and able to adjust activities as necessary.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
